6.5 Ocean Tide (Record/Playback)
With the Ocean Tide command, you can specify a tide level above or below
mean low-low tide. From Record Mode, a non-zero value entered here will be
stored in the data file. If the value is set at zero, Isis will store tide as it is
acquired over the serial port. Refer to
Appendix D, ‘Serial Interfaces’ for
guidance in the configuration of serial interfaces. In Playback Mode, a non-zero
value will override the stored tide for display purposes.

If the Apply Tide Correction box is checked, Isis will apply a correction based
on the tide value to any depth-corrected subbottom display. Refer to
‘Depth
Delay and Duration’
for guidance in displaying depth-corrected subbottom data.
6.6 Sound Velocity (Record/Playback)
Because the speed of sound varies with water temperature, depth, and salinity,
you may want to specify a value that most closes matches the conditions you will
encounter during your data survey. The
Sound Velocity command (Figure 6-7)
allows you to specify the speed of sound in water based on two-way travel time
and one-way distance. The default is 1500 m/sec. Isis uses whatever value you
specify here as the speed of sound for all distance calculations.
